When you almost have a heart attack...

You may be thinking "What? did somebody you know have a heart attack?"  Well, that's almost right. Mom was playing piano and I was sitting on our couch.  Our house faces west, where the road is.  The couch's back is against our house's west wall, so I couldn't see the road.

Mom glanced up from her piano, put her hands to her face in horror and yelled "Oh my gosh!!!  The babies are on the ROAD!!!"

When she said that I froze with terror.  I turned my head around and almost had a heart attack.  The baby goats were peacefully wandering all over the road, by the mailbox, crossing the yellow line onto the other side of the road, ect..😳😳😳😳

I leaped off the couch, raced out the door, and galloped up the driveway to our gate shouting"Babies!! come back!!"

I opened the gate, dry mouthed, and to  my IMMENSE relief they came trotting to me.  I got them all through the gate, chained it, and raced back down the driveway.

When I said that the babies never run or chase me, they do run and chase me, just not as obsessively as they used to.  They were speeding now, heads bobbing, to the baby goat barn with me.

I then realized that everybody had escaped except Clove, who was still running in the pasture.  I got her and put them all to bed in the barn.

I'm so thankful that a car didn't run one over.  Now the babies are NOT allowed to go into the pasture.  They have escaped before, through a hole under the fence, then crawled under the driveway gate (I have no idea why they went under the driveway gate, as they could have came to the house, but I guess I'll never know).  First Tulip escaped, then KitKat figured it out too.  Tulip appeared to have forgotten it, as she quit escaping, but KitKat didn't.  I locked them up until I thought they had forgotten it, but I guess they didn't.  Now everybody else has figured it out, so no more in the pasture.

This happened 20 minutes ago.  Besides that nerve racking incident there isn't anything else to say except that it is very warm and windy today.

Have a great weekend and for goodness' sake don't let your goats escape! (haha didn't realize that rhymed until after I typed it)
