Spring is here and baby goats have been sold!!!

The snow is melted, the wind is warming everything, and the animals are feeling their oats!!!

First let me say that Goliath, Blizzard, Toffee, and Miracle have been sold!!
They were sold on April 6 to a family that wanted the boys for brush goats (to eat brush in their pasture) and Miracle for a milk goat.

Miracle

She must have tasted something gross!

Goliath

Blizzard (Grace is behind him)

Toffee

We stuck Miracle, Blizzard and Toffee into a tote and Goliath stood at my feet as they rode in the truck to their new owners.

The other baby goats (Mercy, Grace, Spicy, Clove, Tulip and KitKat) are weaned now.  I'll bet they are planning their revenge right this minute.

The "progress" of the goatlympians (goat olympians) was getting better, but now that they are weaned they have been dropping the ball.  They won't chase me everywhere anymore, so they haven't been running, which = potbellied babies.  Here they are running in the pasture with the nannies before we sold the other babies.  I have been trying to get them to run some more, but ah, all is lost.

I've blown up some of the really cool ones.  The goats (nannies and babies) have been moved back into their old pasture because we are reconstructing the garden fence.

Relaxing.

Toffee was certainly feeling his oats.  "I can't help it!" he shouted as he sprang away.

Wow Mercy!

Demolishing an Oak tree.  Goats are like piranhas when it comes to "de-barking" trees, badsically eating all of the bark off where they can reach.

Ginger

Minty

Puddins.  Her stitches have all fallen out and she looks wonderful!

Sugar

Spicy and I.  The babies are getting heavy!

I was enjoying myself until I saw Mittens, our tuxedo cat, walking up (groan).  She is the most sweet, loving cat ever but it seems that every time she walks up to me there is this horrid smell.  I think she farts when she is around me.  Hmmm...  Maybe it's a way to try to assert authority over me.

"Feed me, ya' lazy bum!"

Authority? Hmmm indeed...

To help you see the baby goats' conformations...

Spicy

Clove

Miracle

Tulip

Mercy

KitKat

Grace

Grazing.  It's usually rare for them to eat grass, but they must have been craving it lately.

I see two babies comin',  they're comin' round the bend...

The horses have also been frisky, running, bucking, and playing "tag", when they chase each other around.

Jubilee.  Her mane is astonishingly thick.

All the horses.

I have been learning how to knit, and this is one of my swatches.

I also crotchet and I just finished this afghan called "Kittens".  It is pink, white, and purple.

I'm adding tassels to the ends.

I am now making a Granny Ripple afghan.  It is a mix of blues and grays.

I also crotched a coaster.

Mom went to Sunnyside today and saw an Antelope right outside of Mabton!!

Until next time, then!
