Hi! My name is KryssaLee Baze, and I'm delighted you stopped by my blog! I'm 15 years old, and homeschooled (I'm graduating this summer, woohoo!). I live in Washington State with my family. I have one sibling, my older brother Dock. You will hear him mentioned occasionally.
My family and I are conservative, Independent Baptists. We love good preaching about the only thing that saves: the blood of Jesus Christ!
As I mentioned in my profile, I love music. I've played violin since I was 11 years old, with the Suzuki Method. I'm currently in Suzuki Violin Book 6. My teacher is from Portland Oregon, and she's the tenured soloist with the Oregon Symphony. I also play fiddle, my favorite fiddle style being Québécois fiddle, a style from Québéc, Canada. The tradition with this style is to play with footwork, which I'm learning, although its killer hard! I have played piano since I was 10, and have had classical lesons with the same teacher for nearly 5 years, until a few months ago, when she had to quit due to health issues. Now, I'm drifting my piano focus from classical to hymn improvisation. My goal with piano is to be a good church pianist, leading the congregation through service.
A few of my hobbies are: horeback riding (western style, of course!), training dogs, dancing, (specifically folk dancing, like old square dancing and swing dancing. It's probably my favorite hobby!) crocheting, and drawing.
- Favorite color? = Purple
- Favorite violinist? = Hilary Hahn
- Favorite fiddler? = André Brunet (check him out even if you don't play fiddle. This guy is something else!!!)
- Favorite pianist? = Anna Ferraro and Natalie Raynes Blanton
This is a blog that I started in 2017. It is basically a journal of what goes on in my life and what I'm doing. You will find posts ranging from violin, music, to church, bible studies, gardening, butchering, and more!
