Another death, mischevious goats, horses, dogs, cats and newcomers!

We have moved the goats into the former orchard (now the new goat pasture), and the horses have taken over the old goat pasture (now it is the horse pasture).  But, alas, the mischievous goats had something up their sleeves. Oops, I meant hides.  They had escaped! (except Ginger).  First they demolished our lilac bushes.  Then the irises.  Then the rasberries.  But the final blow was that laying in the walk way, all shredded and chewed up, was a stem of what used to be a huge, vibrant green leaf of rhubarb! 😱

Within a few hours, we expected surely that someone would be laying dead in the pasture .  One hour.  Two hours.  Three hours.  And still no dead goats!!  What a blessing from Christ Jesus to somehow spare one of our precious goats' lives!

But that isn't all.  We took Frosty, Morning Glory, Sundae, and our yearling cows to the Toppenish Salesyard!  I miss them.  Some things you just have to get over, though.  Just like I had to get over my precious Bunny being sold.  We also Nellybelle, our little half Angus half Holstien heifer.   I broke her to ride, and she was so tame that I could crawl under her belly, touch her to be udder, and I could do riding tricks on her.  Well, she is sold now.

Then, another of our cows  (little Lucky, one of the Jerseys) was found on our little trail in our pasture  bloated and dead.   Grrrr!😡

We are drying the goats up.

Old Bay.  Jubilee and Blaze have come home from the pasture they were on down the road.  Pics of them later.

We got newcomers now!  Meet Wilma and Wilbur!  Wilma is the one with the big blue spots on her rump and Wilbur is the other one.  They both have blue spots, but Wilma's are the biggest.

That's all for now.  So you next time!

  1. One of my greatest fears is goats getting out and eating themselves to death. I'm so glad you didn't lose any! Winter is a very adorable cat. :)
