Updates on the farm

Updates

We have gotten some new animals lately, and here is one!

A new horse!!!

Our relative of ours gave us his granddaughter's old barrel racing/team roping horse, and she said he was to tall(he is about 16 hands). So he gave him to us for free!! We have not decided on a name for him.

Not very good pics, but oh well

He is a chestnut with two white hind socks and a blaze

Next, we got new bottle calves.  We sold our others to a guy from Olympia, and he wants to buy them every 2 month cycle- when we wean them.  He is a team roper and contracts calves.

Beauty (he has a "beauty mark" below his eye)

Punkin,  a pure Jersey

Bloodshot, pure Holstein (his eyes were real bloodshot when we got him)
Edit: I persuaded Mom to let me rename him Cutie.

Lucky, another pure Jersey

Goldie, another Jersey.  Both of his eyes are blue (he's not blind, don't worry) which is weird.

Tippy, Holstein/Angus cross. The very tip of his tail is white, that's all

Midnight, another Angus/Holstein cross

This calf has an interesting story behind him. He was a day old when we brought him home, and almost dead.  For about two days, he was shivering, half dead and we had to tube feed him.  Then a miracle happened! On the third day, Dock brought him out in the pen and stood him up!! (he was in a stall before).  He stayed standing and that day sucked the bottle.  I have never seen a Jersey come back from the brink of death to be honest- they vote who dies next.   Now, he is just as lively as the other calves, and sucking a bottle too!!! So we named him Liver, because he lived.
