NEW PUPPY!!!….also new kittens, new well, new kitchen…and much more

❗THIS IS A VERY LONG POST!❗

Events are in the order they happened.

First, Wayne

In mid February Dock noticed that Wayne was acting very lethargic and was shivering.  He was on the haystack at the time.  Dock put his coat over him and left to plow the neighbor's driveway.  Later, I was bringing Junior inside the house for a rare treat of saying hi to Mom and I, but Wayne wouldn't come when I called.  I called and called, started getting worried, wondering if he went wandering and got hit by a car or something.  I went out looking through the whole property for him, and eventually found him still on the haystack under Dock's coat where he had originally left him.  I immediately knew that something was wrong.  I had to almost drag him to the house 'cause he wouldn't move, and brought him in.  All day he wouldn't move, but drank like CRAZY.  Also, his gums were pure white.  No color at all.  We all thought that somehow he had gotten poisoned. Of course, after he had drank a couple gallons.  Anyways, we took him to the vet the next day on Sunday and left him there.  Very long story short, after several blood tests we found out that it was not poison but that he has some auto-immune disease called thrombocytopenia.  He had to take prednisolone.  We had to take him back in every 3 weeks to check his blood platelettes in the beginning and give him two pills a day.

He's completely healed now, and doesn't need any pills or vet visits

He's one happy pup!

We drilled a new well!

Our old one was going dry (it dried up to 2-3 gallons a minute), so we drilled a new one.  It's 120 feet and we get 10-12 gallons a minute.  Praise God!!

Betsy, Polly, and Molly got hauled to the Toppenish sales yard on the 17th of April.  There Dad bought Burger Boy. Lol, the name!😂 Dad bought him at the sales yard for burger, since we were running low.  He was as big as Big Jake! (who is 16 hands, by the way).  He's butchered and we're feasting on him😋

Grandma calved May 18th.  She had a heifer who we named Dolly (I know, we already have had a Dolly but whatever.  It's a good name for heifer calves).  That night we bought 3 more calves, a pair of Angus something twins, a bull and a heifer, which means that the heifer is a freemartin, and a male holstein calf.  She's everybody's mom now.  She's the family nurse cow.

Dolly when she was first born

And her now (I don't know why she looks like a Jersey.  Grandma has a little bit in her but she was bred to an Angus bull.  Whatever...)

Clover and Jiffy

Jiffy

Jethro (named that for no reason at all.  Dad just called him that offhand & it stuck)

And now kittens!

So, I may have mentioned it before and I may have not, but we have been having a mice infestation since we gave our cats away over a year ago.  We also had pack rats move in temporarily, and although the dogs killed those, there are still a bunch of mice.  We posted an ad on craigslist looking for free kittens.  In June we got two from Yakima.

The black one was a female.  And after we had her ingrained in us as a female, it turns out she's a male.

Anyways, I named "her" Panther, which luckily can still be a boy name

When he was little...

...And him now!

The orange one is a male.  When I was really little I watched the Disney movie The Aristocats and barely remembered the orange tom-cat in it.  I searched his name and found it.

His name is Abraham DeLacey Guiseppe Casey Thomas O'Malley (um yeah, we just call him O'Malley).  Him and Panther are brother/sister and probably about just over 1 month old now.

O'Malley when he was little…SO ADORABLE!

…And him now!

(Yeah, him and Panther are in their "ugly stage" now)

We got four other kittens from a goat person we know

Nefertiri

Cleopatra

When she was little...

...And her now!

Ivanhoe when he was little...

...And him now!

Lover-dover

When he was smaller...

…and him now!

He's absolutely stunning and so photogenic.  Also, he's seeming like he's going to be long-haired.

All the kittens sprawled out on the shop floor.

We put in a new kitchen!

The old kitchen (while Dad and Dock are in the process of ripping it out)

Yeah, Dad just happened to be flicking his nose with his thumb when I took the pic! 😂😂

When Dad ripped out the sink, he saw this.
A huge mouse nest filled with poop! 😱
Needless to say, we definitely had some clean up to do.  Told you we had a mice infestation.  I know you didn't believe me.  Now, don't try to argue, whoever you are! You didn't believe me! Come on, admit it!

I don't have pictures of the new kitchen yet

And now

…drumbeats rolling please…

Meet Storm!

She is a purebred black German Shepherd.  We got her last Sunday from the same breeder that we got Nova from 😊

She's 10 weeks old.

We've been planning on getting a German Shepherd pup since Nova and Duke died.  Since Wayne and Junior are getting old now (they are 9 now!), we needed a guard dog, and also the deer have been invading the property because Wayne and Junior have gotten kind of lazy now.

We've been scouring the ads for German Shepherd puppies, and finally found one for $400.  When we got their address, we realized that they were the same breeder!

Now for miscellaneous pictures of the other animals

Ginger

Suger (Don't know if I ever mentioned this, but her nickname is Sugs)

Minty

I had a photo of Puddins but I don't know where it went.

Blaze

Big Jake got hauled to my dad's coworker's house for his 14 year old daughter.  She's going to use him for barrel racing at the little play-dates around here.
