Music

Hi all!

I have never put on much about my music, and I am sorry, because music is one of my greatest passions.  I play violin as well as piano, and have been playing piano two years and violin for over 1 year.

My piano journey started in August of 2017.  My mom started me up (she plays piano) and I off-and-on practiced throughout that following year.

In June of 2018 I started piano lessons with  Nicole Becerra.  She is a master classical pianist.  She went to college for piano for four years and has a degree in Piano Performance (she is looking for more students, if anyone is interested).

I took lessons with her all summer, took a break, and now have started back up again this June.  Mom is also working with me on church piano as we have been the music for our local church, Heritage Bible Baptist Church in The Dalles.

My violin journey started when we visited a church once.  There was a young girl playing violin and Mom asked her if she was giving lessons.  She wasn't, but got our contact info and a year later in 2018 called us one night, explaining that she had just started giving lessons.  She is 17 years old and has been playing violin for eight years, piano for two years, and she also plays cello (she is not looking for anymore students at the moment).  We immediately started lessons that May, and took them for one year.  This summer we have taken a break, but will be starting again September 23.

I had my 1 year violin recital this May, and we played All The Way My Savior Leads Me, Amazing Grace, and Sweet Hour of Prayer.  We also played a rendition of Be Still My Soul with my mom accompanying us on the piano.

It's really nice to record yourself, because then you can go back when your struggling with a piece and remind yourself that you are progressing.  I cringe when I listen to the videos(at myself, not my teacher!), but it's actually nice because I know that I have progressed a lot since then.

Unfortunately I can't upload the videos unless I have a YouTube account, which I don't, so until we get one set up there'll be no videos.😞

  1. Hey Kryssa Lee,

If you have a blog you already have a Google account, and YouTube is owned by Google, so you already have a YouTube account as well. All you need to do is give your channel a name and start uploading. If you don't want your videos to be public, you can post them as "unlisted" and still share them on your blog by copying and pasting the link. :)
