Dog Salon

To begin, we've been having some skunk issues, and several days ago the whole front, back, and side yards, the porch, the driveway, the house itself, and the dogs were 'skunked'.  We woke up in the middle of the night with burning noses, watering eyes, and gagging at the the awful shroud that enveloped the house(the windows were open, that's how we smelt it in bed).

That's what started the whole Doggy Salon business.  All the dogs got baths, and Wayne's back end hair got snipped off(courtesy of me) so his 'presents' wouldn't get stuck in the long fluffy hair(Junior had the same procedure done this spring.  His back end gets worse than Wayne's).

The dogs have been shedding, and Wayne's hair that he sheds is always brown.  This Sunday I saw that all the brown hair sticking up around his rump was all matted, so Doggy Salon was in business.

I used a curry comb, a dandy brush, and scissors

I brushed him, cut all his rump hair off, and brushed him again.  I know he's a lot cooler, as he hardly pants, and he looks better, being all brushed.

Junior went through the same procedure, and then Nova was throughouly brushed, before I could survey my work with satisfaction.

The battle scene...

All the hair in a pile and waiting to go and be dumped in the far corner of one of the pastures

Now for good photos of them.  One of our neighbors was entering their driveway, and of course Wayne and Nova were staring and barking, so I got perfect pics of them.

Wayne

Junior(I happend to get good photos of him, though he wasn't looking or paying attention to the neighbors.  If someone threw a dog biscuit to him, I don't think that he'd care if they waltzed into the place).

Mom chopped down all the Hollyhocks around the ex-baby goat barn(now it's the dog kennel).

Last time I updated the goats used to be in this pasture, with the shed and root cellar in it.

Now they have been moved to this pasture that they were in before they were moved to the pasture with the shed & root cellar.  They stay here at night, and then they are moved to a neighbor's pasture next door to forage after milking.

The apples(which are loaded, if I haven't already said that 1,000 times...)
